Born April 25, 1917 in Johnstown, she was the daughter of the later Hugh G. and Alice Gallagher Curran. She was a retired Latin and English Teacher with the Greater Johnstown School District after 35 years of service. She taught in Lilly Borough, Joseph Johns Jr. High School and Cochran Jr. High School and was the recipient of the Johnstown Tribune Democrat Teacher of the Year Award in 1956 while at the Joseph Johns Jr. High School. She was a member of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Johnstown. She was the widow of Joseph B. Weaver. Surviving are her children, Hugh C. Weaver, married to the former JoAnne Adams of Mechanicsburg and Philene W. Revitsky of Mt. Lebanon, Pa.; her sister, Rose Allen Curran of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren, Steven, Alicia and Katie Revitsky, and Joseph, Brendan and Kelly Weaver., her brothers, Eugene C. Curran, Monsignor Philip B. Curran and John J. Curran and sister, Sara C. Curran preceded her in death. Viewing will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday in Moskal-Kennedy Colonial Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in her church with burial in Grandview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Carmelite Monastery, P.O. Box 57, Loretto, Pa. 15940.
