Friday, 28 Oct 1910 Volume 44, Number 42 Williams Not to Answer For Crime in Earthly Court Murderer of Johnstown Woman Goes to Face Judge in Highest Court Died of Consumption William Williams, Jr., of Johnstown, who murdered Mrs. Jennie Pringle in the Washington building, Johnstown, several weeks ago is dead. His death occurred at the home of his sister, Mrs. Cassiday of Barnesboro. Consumption was the cause. "They'll never hang me," said Williams when brought to jail here. "I'll be dead in a few weeks." His prediction came true. He was released from jail on bail about 10 days ago. He walked from the jail to a wagon but his strength was not good and when he reached his sister's home he sank rapidly. Williams walked into his wife's room in the Washington building, Johnstown, one day a couple of months ago. There he found his wife and the Pringle woman. The fellow seized the Pringle woman, threw her to the floor and hacked and cut at her throat. His wife jumped through a glass door and escaped. When the police arrived they found the dead body of Mrs. Pringle and also that of Williams, who had cut his throat. The murderer was taken to the Memorial Hospital. The wound in his neck never healed and until the time of his death he breathed partly through a hole in this throat.
