Confer of Confermont, Eighth Ward, and John Hackett Cooney, cashier of the First National Bank of Conemaugh, were united in marriage at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Moxham, Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock. Rev. Father Philip Bohan, the rector, celebrated the nuptial mass assisted by Father P. Fox, rector of the church of the Sacred Heart, Conemaugh, of which Mr. Cooney is a communicant member. Miss Rose Sloan, organist of St. John Gualbert's Church, directed the music. Following the ceremony the Merchant's Hotel Café served the wedding breakfast at the Confer home, after which Mr. and Mrs. Cooney left for a New England honeymoon. The attendants at the wedding were Miss Almira Confer, maid of honor; Misses Rose Schry and Claire McNeelis, bridesmaids; Edwarda Kreese, Frances Agnes Suppes and Ada Louise Long, flower girls. Harry B. Cooney, a brother of the groom, was best man while the ushers were Attorney Alvin Sherbine, Dr. Irvin Shaffer and Patrick V. Dowling of this city and Attorney Francis Confer of Altoona. The bride and groom and the best man and maid of honor knelt while the little flower girls stood directly in front of the head of the aisles with two ushers and one of the bridesmaids, standing on one side facing the other two ushers and the other bridesmaid on the opposite side of the church, presenting a very pretty appearance. Seated with Rev. Father Bohan behind the alter rail during the mass, was the Rev. Father John Quinn, pastor of the Dunlo Catholic Church. The young couple will carry into their matrimonial ventures the best wishes of many warm friends.
