Friday, 2 Jul 1909 Volume 43, Number 27 Attended Pretty Wedding at Pittsburg Farrell-McMahan Nuptials at St. Kieran's Church Witnessed by Cambria Countians The marriage of Miss Mary McMahan to Dr. Thomas F. Farrell of Pittsburg was solemnized at 9 o'clock Wednesday, June 30th at St. Kieran's Catholic Church in Pittsburg by the groom's uncle, the Rt. Rev. Mons. John Boyle, rector of St. John's Church, Johnstown, with the Rev. Father James F. Doyle, of St. Kieran's church, as deacon of the mass and the Rev. Father Garrett Welsh of St. Augustine, this county, a cousin of the groom, as sub-deacon. The master of ceremonies was the Rev. Father Angel, Father Doyle's assistant. Miss Nellie Farrell of Johnstown, a sister of the groom, was the maid of honor to the bride and Attorney William A. McGuire of Ebensburg was the groomsman. Among the relatives to witness the ceremony from this locality were Mrs. Mary Farrell, the groom's mother; Miss Annie Farrell, John P. Farrell and James A. Zink, all of 211 John Street; and Mr. and Mrs. James A. Smith of 233 John Street, Johnstown. After the ceremony, a wedding breakfast was served at the new home of the married couple on Keystone Street, their new home having just been completed and furnished. The bride and groom left Wednesday evening for a trip on the Great Lakes. Mr. Farrell is well known to many Cambria countians, he having formerly lived near Wilmore and taught school in this county some ten years ago.
