AND MRS. GALLAGHER Erla Diehl Is Married Miss Erla Marie Diehl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irving Diehl of Blue Knob, became the bride of Paul A. Gallagher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Gallagher of Gallitzin, R. D., on Saturday morning, May 8, at 9 o'clock in St. Aloysius Catholic church, Cresson. Father I. A. Strittmatter celebrated the nuptial high mass and the double ring ceremony before an altar decorated with snapdragons. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white bridal satin gown of her own design which had fitted bodice, long fitted sleeves ending in points over her hands, drop shoulder neckline with a sheer yoke edged with a wide ruffle of chantilly lace, and circular skirt designed with a long train. Chantilly lace edged her heirloom veil of white net which was held in a tiara of rhinestone. She carried an arm bouquet of white roses, carnations and streamers. Miss Mary Gailey, cousin of the bridegroom, served as maid of honor. She was attired in a gown of pink taffeta with puffed sleeves, molded bodice, sweetheart neckline and wore a veil of pink net. She carried an arm bouquet of mixed flowers. Clifford Galley, cousin of the bridegroom, acted as best man, while the ushers were Carl Diehl, brother of the bride, and James Gailey, jr., cousin of the bridegroom. The mother of the bride chose a navy blue ensemble with navy blue accessories and wore a corsage of yellow roses, while the mother of the bridegroom chose pink with navy blue accessories and also wore a corsage of yellow roses. The bride's gift to the maid of honor was a necklace and the bridegroom gave the best man and ushers each a tie clasp. A reception was held at the home of the bride for members of the immediate families and relatives. Following the reception the couple left for a wedding trip to Washington, D. C., accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Leland Whysong, close friends of the bride and bridegroom who were married recently. The bride is a graduate of Claysburg High school, class of 1947, and is now employed at the Puritan Knitting mills of Altoona. The bridegroom is a graduate of Cresson High school, class of 1945, and having served 17 months with the United States air forces, is now a student at St. Francis college at Loretto.
