Friday, 4 Jan 1907 Volume 41, Number 1 Made Love on the Fly Meeting on the Atlantic express, which reaches Harrisburg early in the morning, John F. Hoover, a young civil engineer of Milwaukee, Wis., and Miss Mahala Ling of Johnstown, were married Friday, thirty minutes after the train reached the state capital. The young man was en route to Chambersburg while Miss Ling was on a visit to friends in the eastern part of the state. It was love at first sight and after exchanging family histories, they decided to be married in Harrisburg. The bride wired home that she would postpone her visit and that she and her husband would return to Johnstown on the next train.
