Friday, 11 Nov 1910 Volume 44, Number 44 Jones-Metz Announcements were received in Ebensburg Thursday of the marriage in Philadelphia Wednesday of Attorney Walter Jones of Ebensburg and Miss Edith DeWitt Metz of that city. Attorney and Mrs. Jones are now on a honeymoon trip through the New England states and will be at home to their friends after Dec. 1. They will reside on Caroline Street in the house vacated by Mr. and Mrs. T. Stanton Davis. Mrs. Jones is the daughter of Mrs. Jennie McNamara Metz, who formerly lived in Hollidaysburg, and is a niece of Congressman-elect Jesse L. Hartman. Mr. Jones is a son of Mrs. Jane Jones of this place and is a promising young lawyer. Cambria Freeman Ebensburg, Pa. Mr. Jones took great pleasure in preparing for the Benedicts, not knowing then that he was to marry soon himself. A week or so ago Walter Jones married Miss Metz of Philadelphia. He returned home with his bride Thursday night. A number of friends captured the blushing, protesting, near-fighting bridegroom and hauled him around town on a trunk wagon. They then trundled him about the city on a sandsled. Afterwards they dressed him in a silk hat and long coat - with other clothes - and chased him up and down the streets.
