The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ___________________________________________________________ Loretto Borough, Cambria County, PA, Vol. 6, page 1 Last Will and Testament of Veronica McGUIRE In the name of God Amen, I Veronica McGuire of the Borough of Loretto, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, being of sound mind and memory, do make and declare this as my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making null and void all former wills by me made. First, I give my soul to God who gave it, and my body to the earth to be decently interred in St. Michaels Cemetery in Loretto. And such worldly goods as it has pleased God to entrust me with, I dispose of as follows, viz: First, I direct that all my just debts and funeral expences shall be paid out of the money set aside by me for said purpose and the remainder shall be given to the Pastor of St. Michaels church at Loretto for Masses for the repose of my own and the soul of my son James C. Burk and his deceased wife. And I further direct that all my household goods shall be sold and the nett proceeds thereof shall be given to the party or parties who will take care of me during the remainder of my life or with whom I may die. And I hereby appoint Joseph Hogue as my executor. In witness whereof I hereby set my hand and seal this 7th of August A.D. 1899. Jones, Register of the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for said County, personally came Michael Malloy one of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing Will and Testament who being duly sworn according to law, does depose and say that he was present and saw and heard Veronica Maguire the within named testatrix, sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the foregoing instrument of writing as and for her last Will and Testament, and at the time of so doing she was of sound mind, memory, and understanding, to the bdest of his knowledge, observation and belief. Jones, Register of Wills in and for said County, personally came B.W. Litzinger and Nellie Little who being duly sworn according to law, say: That they were will acquainted with Veronica Maguire, late a resident of the Township of Allegheny, in the County aforesaid, that they are familiar with the handwriting of said Veronica Maguire, having frequently seen her write her own name, as well as other matters; that the said Veronica Maguire is now deceased; that they have carefully examined the signature of Veronica Maguire to the aforesaid last will and testament, dated the seventh day of August A.D. 1899, and they verily believe the same to be in the own proper handwriting of said Veronica Maguire.
