Amen! I Richard Sanderson, of the borough of Franklin, in the county of Cambria, and State of Pennsylvania, being of sound mind and disposing memory, apprized be God for the same and being desirous of settling my worldly affairs while I have strength and capacity so to do, do make and publish this my last will and testament, that is to say, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Margaret Sanderson, all my real and personal estate and property for her use and benefit, during her natural life, if she shall be living at the time of my decease, after paying all my just and lawful debts and funeral expenses. I further order and direct that at the death of my said wife, if she survives me, all my real estate and personal property then remaining, shall be sold at public sale, after due notice of the time and place, shall have been given, and the proceeds or amount realized therefrom, shall be equally divided share and share alike amongst the following named persons viz: my two daughter, Jane, intermarried with Isaac Morgan; Catherine Elmira, intermarried with David Crames; my adopted son, William Sanderson; and my grandson, Thomas McLane, son of my deceased daughter, Ann Eliza, who was intermarried with George McLane. Provided however that in the distribution of the proceeds of the sale aforesaid, the said William, my adopted son, shall be paid one hundred dollars more than either or any of the other three legatees, aforesaid. I do further order and direct, that in the event of the death of either or both of my daughters aforesaid, before the division and distribution of my estate as herein directed, the share that would have been adjudged to such daughter, shall be equally divided amongst her children, or paid to her child as the case may be. I also further order and direct that if at any time during the life of my said wife, she may find it necessary to sell any of my said real estate for her maintenance and support, she shall make such necessity known to my executor, hereafter named who, if he, in his judgment considers it necessary so to do, is hereby directed and authorized and empower to sell and convey the good and sufficient deed of conveyance, that certain lot of ground lying near the foot bridge across the Conemaugh River and known in the plan of lots laid out by me, by the number nine (9). The sale of this lot may be by public entry or private sale, as my executor may consider most advantageous, and the proceeds thereof, after defraying the necessary expenses, shall be paid to my said wife. I also, further order and direct that in the final sale of my property after the death of my said wife, the different lots of ground as designated by me, shall be sold separately and singly except the three lots lying next to Garden Alley, on one of which the mansion house, now occupied by me, now stands, which said three lots,, with the mansion house shall be sold together. Provided nevertheless that if my executor in his judgment, believes that a greater amount would be realized by selling the said three lots separately, he is hereby ordered so to sell them. And I do hereby constitute and appoint John Gray of the borough of East Conemaugh executor of this my Last will and Testament, and do hereby authorize and empower him to make necessary deeds of conveyance for all real estate sold by him, as herein directed by me. Singer , Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for said County, personally came John Roberts and S. C. Bole, the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing Will, who being duly affirmed according to law, dost depose and say, that they were present and saw and heard Richard Sanderson, the Within named testator sign, seal, pronounce, and declare the foregoing instrument of writing as and for h last Will and Testaments, and at the time of so doing he was of sound mind, memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge, observation and belief.
