Mrs. Mary Callen, widow of the late Patrick Callen, of Nesquehoning, a civil war hero, who died a year ago, died yesterday, at 8.30 a.m., of complication, after a lingering illness. aged 70 years. She was an estimable lady beloved and respected by many friends and neighbors for her many admirable qualities. She was the mother of a large and creditable family for whose welfare no sacrifice was too much for her to make, thus setting an example of grand and noble motherhood that commended itself to general emulation. Her daughter Mrs. Alice Tracy, of Butte Mont., was rushing to her bedside when she died, reaching Chicago Ill., as she expired. The following children survive: Mrs. Harry Davenport, Mrs. Alice Tracy, Charles Callen, Butte, Mont.; Peter Callen, Waterville, Conn.; Edward Callen, South Bethlehem; Mrs. Owen McConnon and Miss Margaret Callen, Nesquehoning.
