Beers, 1898. _______________________________________________ COMMEMORATIVE BIOGRAPHICAL RECORD, page 8 SENATOR HENRY PETRIKIN, of Bellefonte, Centre county, died at the "Merchants Hotel" in Philadelphia, November 8, 1849. He was the first white child born in Bellefonte, in the year 1798, a printer by profession, and for many years editor of the Bellefonte Patriot. He was a member of the House in 1828-30, State Senator in 1820 for Judge Burnside's unexpired term, and Senator in 1831-35. He was Deputy Secretary of the Commonwealth from 1839-42, and from 1845-48. At the close of his life he was superintendent of the railroad around the Inclined Plane. He was buried at Harrisburg, according to his own request.
