The Fulton County News. (McConnellsburg, Pa.) October 26, 1899
William S. Miller Arrested
William S. Miller, Postmaster at Rebersburg, Centre county, a small hamlet near
Bellefonte, was recently arrested at his home by deputy Marshall John Roe and taken
to Altoona and given a hearing before United States Commissioner A. P. MacLeod, on a
charge of opening and reading mail matter passing through his office. The
Information was made against Miller by post office inspector H. T.
Gregory. He was held in the sum of $500 for his appearance at the Scranton term of
United States Court next March.
