"Tub" Bennett, 67, of 110 N. High Street, Port Matilda died Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center. He was born September 27, 1936 in Port Matilda, a son of the late Charles Sr. and Eva. M. (Price) Bennett. He was previously married to Alice Shaffer who survives in Tyrone. Also surviving is a daughter, Becky Rae Romano of Tyrone, three grandchildren, two sisters, Rosalie Foster of Tyrone, Bertha Weller of Port Matilda and two brothers, Frederick and Charles Jr. "Bob" both of Port Matilda. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Mr. Bennett retired on disability in 1971 from College Heights Esso Station, State College as a mechanic. He was previously employed at Hafer's Buick, State College. He was a member of the Port Matilda Presbyterian Church, Port Matilda American Legion and a lifetime member of the Port Matilda Fire Company. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial at Port Matilda Presbyterian Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
