For the following we are indebted to the Daily Herald of yesterday's edition: Henry Geistwhite, formerly of Centre Hall and for the past three weeks a resident of Tyrone, died at half-past 11 o'clock this morning at the home of his son-in-law, Theodore Steele, on Cottage avenue. Last Sunday evening, Mr. Geistwhite was taken ill with the grip, but his illness was not considered serious either by himself or friends at the time. He was not confined to the house. Yesterday afternoon he was on his way home when illness suddenly seized him and he fell at the corner of Main and Clearfield streets. He was carried into the home of Samuel Heister, where he revived and was subsequently carried home. Last night he felt much better and this morning he was out doors for a short time. About fifteen minutes past 11 o'clock his condition again became worse and he was assisted upstairs to bed. The disease had attacked the heart, and with unexpected suddenness the end came. Only fifteen minutes after he went up stairs he breathed his last. The deceased was born sixty-nine years ago in Huntingdon county. About 1842 he was united in marriage at Lewistown, with Miss Margaret E. Foltz. After a residence of some years at Lewistown, he removed to Centre Hall, where for nearly forty years he had made his home, engaged in that vicinity in farming and laboring. Three weeks ago he came to Tyrone to work with his son-in-law, Theodore Steele, contractor in masonry. Not feeling very well, he had only worked a few days since he came to this place. Mr. Geistwhite was the father of twelve children, eight of whom, with his aged wife, survive him. The children are: Samuel Geistwhite, Mrs. J. M. Lieb and Miss Fannie Geistwhite, of Bellefonte, Mrs. Theodore Steele, of Tyrone; Mrs. James Worrell, Mrs. Mary Lyons and Miss Amelia Geistwhite, of Centre Hall, and Mrs. Roland Gingrich, of Spruce Creek. The funeral arrangements have not yet been perfected, but will be announced to-morrow.
