Eugene J. Harpster, 21, of Pennsylvania Furnace, who was reported missing in action over Berlin April 18, 1944, has been declared presumably dead in a letter from the War Department received recently by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ira C. Harpster. Sgt. Harpster, a radio operator on a B-17 bomber, attended the Pine Grove Mills schools and was graduated from the State College High School. In addition to his parents he is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mae of Worcester, Mass., Vernie, Emeline, Donald, Kenneth, all at home.
