Harpster, 91, of Fairbrook Manor, Pennsylvania Furnace, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003 at her home. She was born Jan. 8, 1912, the daughter of Elrea E. and Edna (Gray) Ellenberger. On Sept. 22, 1933, at the Warriors Mark United Methodist Church, she married Robert L. Harpster who proceeded her in death. She is survived by three daughters, Joanne H. Nearhoof of Warriors mark, Virginia G. Harpster of Julian and Glenda Lee Shearer of Lock Haven; two sons, R. Wayne Harpster of Spruce Creek and John Winston Harpster of Crystal River, Fla.; two brothers, Robert A. Ellenberger of State College and S. Glenn Ellenberger of Allentown; a sister, Jane E. Barber of Andalusia, Ala; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Wesley; and two brothers, Lee W. Ellenberger and J. Merrill Ellenberger. She graduated from the Warriors Mark High School in 1930 and from Lock Haven University in 1932 with a B.S. in elementary education. She and her late husband owned and operated Harpster Chevrolet of Warriors Mark and Chevrolet of Philipsburg for 50 years. She was a very active member of the Warriors Mark United Methodist Church for 80 years serving in various positions and activities including serving as organist for 50 years. She was active in Easter Seals and enjoyed gardening, flowers and the outdoors. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Sept. 14 at 4 p.m. at the home in Pennsylvania Furnace with the Rev. Peggy Bonsell officiating. Interment will follow at Burket Cemetery in Warriors mark. Friends will be received at the home on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Warriors Mark-Franklin Vol. Fire Company, P.O.
