He was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Hines Holobinko. He was employed at the Penn State University as a budget officer retiring Oct. 15, 2004. For 35 years he also ran his own private accounting service. He was retired from the US Army Reserves on April 1, 1997 as Lt. Colonel. He enjoyed hunting and football. He was a member and finance officer of both the VFW State College Post No. 321 and the Port Matilda American Legion Post No. 536, Madera Moose, Philipsburg AM Vets, the 40 and 8, Tyrone Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Club, Philipsburg Elks Club and the Port Matilda High Pines Camp, Inc. He is survived by a companion, June Maney of Julian; two sons, John Holobinko of State College and Joseph Holobinko of the Baltimore area; two sisters, Judith Merrill of Prince Edward Island, Canada and Joan Swistock of Madera and four grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801. A memorial service will announced at a later date.
