Mountain Road, Port Matilda died unexpectedly at his residence on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004 at 4:30 p.m. He was born Aug. 7, 1937 at Philipsburg, a son of the late Lawrence M. and Blanche (Kelley) Moore. He was married Aug. 22, 1959 at Port Matilda to Betty Lou Dillen. He is survived by two sons, Luke L. Moore and his wife Sherry and Matt L. Moore, all of Port Matilda; four granddaughters, Sommer, Nicole, Kylie and Heather Marie; a brother, Merle Moore, of Port Matilda; and a sister, Lucretia Bongiorno of Flemington, N.J. He was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence "Chucky" Moore in 1968; brothers, Clark, Budd, Paul and Clair; and sisters, Rosella Reese and Elizabeth Patton. In his youth, he attended the Black Oak Methodist Church. He enjoyed farming, square dancing, hunting and time with his family. He had worked as a plasterer, an equipment operator for PENNDOT, retiring on disability. Since then, he did crop farming on his farm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Pastor Samuel Reese officiating. Interment will be at Black Oak Cemetery, RD Port Matilda. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 7-9 p.m. and one hour before the service on Saturday.
