Ellis PLETCHER, 81, of Howard, died at home Tuesday, Jan 9, 1962. He was in the Merchant Marine for 44 years and retired 17 years ago, served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. Member of the Methodist Church and the IOOF, Blue Lodge F and A.M of Be llefonte, from which he received his 50 year pin last summer, the William sport Consistory and the Schenck-Pletcher hunting camp. He was an ardent fly fisherman and since retiring made a hobby of the tying, which he did for many friends and others in many states throughout the nation. Born in Howard Tp., Jan 23, 1880, s/o Henry J. and Martha KLINE PLETCHER. On Jan 8, 1919 he married Lydia SCHENCK who survives with three daughters, M rs. Wesley PETERS, Mrs. Pat ALLERIO and Mrs. Gordon CONFER, all of Howard , six gr.ch. Burial Schenck Cemetery.
