Mrs Eliza  (Mease) Pletcher
 - 12/23/1936

12/24/1936 - Mrs. Eliza PLETCHER, Howard's oldest resident 
died at her ho me at 9 o'clock Wednesday night, of last week 
following a week's illness caused by pleurisy and a heart 
ailment. She was 84 years, 11 months and 8 days old at the 
time of her death. Mrs. PLETCHER was born one mile eas t of 
Howard January 8, 1852 a daughter of George and Elizabeth 
WELLS MEAS E, both now deceased, and when a young girl moved 
with her family to Mile sburg on a canal boat. She was 
married, January 16, 1872 to H. Shuman PL ETCHER, who died 
in 1927. She had been an active member of the Howard Me 
thodist church for 72 years. She leaves the following 
children: Mrs. Emm a CASEMAN, Sullivan County; Miss Alice 
PLETCHER and George PLETCHER both of Philadelphia; Eugene of 
New York.
