JOHN W. RIDER

Died at his home in Gatesburg, near Tyrone, on Friday night at 12 o'clock of 
paralysis.  He was aged 74 years.  He was a veteran in the late war, serving 
in the Forty-fifth Regiment, Pennsylvania infantry.  He was a member of the 
Methodist church and of the Grand Army of the Republic of Stormstown.  He is 
survived by his aged wife and three sons and two daughters - John Rider of 
Bellwood, William M. Rider of Altoona, Samuel Rider at home in Gatesburg, 
Mrs. Howard Barr of Gatesburg and Mrs. Wilson Devore of Bellwood.  The 
funeral took place yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock; interment being made in 
Gatesburg.
