Shaffer, 88, formerly of Lewistown, who resided at the home of a nephew, Sherman and Nancy Keller of Box 812, Port Matilda R.D. 2, died Monday, April 1, 1991, at 8:05 p.m. at her residence. She was born August 14, 1902, at Port Matilda R.D., the daughter of T. Dewey and Dot (Reese) Cowher. On November 23, 1939, she was married to Homer Shaffer. He died in 1942. She is survived by one niece and four nephews, Dorothy Hosband, Sandy Ridge; Ward W. Keller, Wayland, Mass.; Russell E. Keller, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Sherman F. Keller and Dewey Solt, both of Port Matilda R.D.2. She was the last of her immediate family and was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. She attended the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church and retired from the American Viscose Co., Lewistown, after 42 years of service. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, Port Matilda R.D., with the Reverend Stevan E. Atanasoff officiating. Interment will be at Lind Memorial Cemetery, Lewistown, Pa. Friends will be received at the Derman Funeral Home Inc. today from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., April 3, 1991
