Smith, 76, of 1173 Clarence Road, Clarence, Pa., formerly of Sandy Ridge, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 1:10 p.m. at James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Altoona. He was born September 21, 1930 in Ashland, rural Osceola Mills, Pa., a son of the late Earl and Rhoda (Kephart) Smith. He was of the Christian faith, was an Army and Merchant Marines Veteran of the Korean War, a member of the American Legion - Clarence, Pa., life member of the Sandy Ridge Sportsman's Club and Stripe Bass Club of Raystown. He was the retired owner of the Smith's Paving and Contracting, Sandy Ridge, Pa. Mr. Smith graduated from the former Philipsburg High School. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant sisters and one brother, Ray Smith. He is survived by a daughter, Pamela L. of Sandy Ridge; sons, Earl R. Smith and wife Cheryl of Sandy Ridge and Rock R. Smith and his wife Cindy of Sandy Ridge; sisters, Ethel Reams and her husband Edward of Ginter, Pa., Jean Srock and her husband Thomas of Ginter, Pa. and Donna Maney of Curwensville; former wife, Dorothy (Kennedy) Smith of Sandy Ridge; five grandchildren: Earl E. Smith, David R. Smith, Rock R. Smith, Lititia Buck and Amanda Smith. Also, a companion, Jenny Buach of Clarence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Heath Funeral Home, Osceola Mills, Pa. with Pastor Mark Melhorn officiating. Place of burial will be I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brisbin, Pa. Visitation will be Friday, April 13, 2007 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Tyrone Daily Herald, April 13, 2007
