To them were born 5 sons and 4 daughters, of whom the eldest son and 5th child, Mordecai Davis Cornog, was born 2-18-1818, in Easttown twp. On his mother's (Davis ) side, he is likewise of Welsh descent. He passed his youth on his father's farm and was educated in the subscription schools. He married 2-18- 1837, to Sophia Curll, dau of Thomas and Margaret Curll. This union was blessed with 3 children; Naomi, m to Watson Lobb; Ella, m to Christian Lapp; and Jennette Davis. He began farming on his own account in Charlestown twp just before his marriage, and some 7 or 8 years subsequently came to the place he now owns. This is the old Cornog homestead of 167 acres, to which his parents moved when he was just 1 year old, and which after his father's death he took at the appraisement. Farming has been his avocation with considerable attention to dairying. He belongs to the Great Valley Baptist church, where he and his family worship.
