Anthony Jackson, born at Eccleston, Parish of St Michael, Lanc., England, moved, in 1649, with his elder Brother, Richard Jackson, sometime soldier in the Parliamentary Army, and settled at Lurgan, County Armagh, Ireland. Here they were among the first converts to Quakerism in Ireland, In 1655 they removed to Cavan, where Anthony probably resided the remainder of his life. In 1670, and as late as 1681, he is mentioned in Besse as suffering persecution and imprisonment for non-payment of tithes.. Isaac Jackson (1665-1750), son of Anthony, was married 2m, 29, 1696, at Oldcastle Mtg, Co Meath, to Ann Evans, dau of Rowland Evans of Ballilong, Co Wicklow. After living for some years at Oldcastle and Clonerany, Co Wexford, the removed, about 1706-7 to Ballytore, Co Kildare. From here they moved to Pa, asking passage at Dublin on the Sizargh, and reached New Castle on Delaware, 9m, 11, 1725.The proceeded at once from New Castle to the home of son-in-law Jeremiah Starr, who had married daughter, Rebecca, at Ballytore, 11m, 10, 1716.
