We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *********************************************************************** From THE HISTORY OF CHESTER COUNTY PA, by Futhey and Cope (1881) In 1784, Norris Jones was a member of an organization The Pennsylvania Society for Promoting the Abolition of Slavery, the Relief of Free Negros unlawfully held in Bondage, and for Improving the condition of the African Race, organized in 1775. Norris was a Chester resident member. Norris married HannahGibbon, on 9-24-1778, the daughter of Joseph and Hannah Marshall, who lived on 400 acres of Westown given him by his father, and where Joseph died at the end of the Revolution. Joseph was an active man, both in church and state, and a member of Assembly for 15 years 1748-63. Joseph was the son of James and Ann Gibson who married 3-23-1734.
