It provided for elders, nominated by the minister and elected by a majority of votes, who are of respectable standing and among the whole congregation of good report,' defined their duties, etc. It was signed by the following persons, who may therefore be considered as the first male members of the church." Thus, it appears the "premier" local historians consider this a list of members. {2} The gravestones of Henry and Catherine Cook are almost entirely illegible; dates were taken from a reading of the stones taken in 1939, as transcribed in records of the Brownback Church, on file at Chester County Historical Society. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Contributed by Robert Barnes robbar@whidbey.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BEATMAN, Abraham 1771 - 28 Feb 1809 Aged 35 Yrs 3 Wks 3 Dys BEIDEMAN, Harry O. 21 Nov 1881 - 20 Apr 1884 BEIDEMAN, Julia K.
