Hannah Whitaker Reazor inherited the home at 111 N.2nd Ave,Coatesville, in about 1882. It was left to her by William B. Hoopes of Downingtown. William and Elizabeth Mengel Hoopes took Hannah Whitaker into their home in 1860 as she was then an orphan. John Alexander Reazor was a bricklayer and brick contractor. They moved around as he followed his work but their permanent home was at 111 N. 2nd. He also worked in Spring City. He helped build the building currently known as "The Flag House" on Main Street in Spring City, Chester co. When he worked there, they lived nearby. I have his business card with his address for Spring City. He also worked as contractor on the Shellcross building on N.2nd Ave., Coatesville. I have the signed contract he made with Mr. Shellcross for the work. Their daughter Blanche died in Norristown. Daughter Goldie died at 111 N.2nd . My grandmother, Myrtle Reazor McNelly, inherited the house on the death of her father, John Alexander Reazor. My father was born in this house. I came home from Coatesville hospital to the same house as a newborn. The house belonged to our family for more than 100 years.
