West Caln Baptist Cemetery Burials (as of 5-6-36); Chester County, PA Contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Dan Lindley [danoh19344@hotmail.com] Copyright 2004. All Rights Reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ********************************************************* The following information is from "A History of West Caln Township" by Joan M. Lorenz found on page 41-42: Attached is a two page list of burials at the West Caln Baptist Cemetery I copied at the CCHS. This cemetery is on private property behind the Hibernia Mansion on Old Stewart Camp Road- a dead end road- nestled between two homes. The cemetery is over grown but some of the stones are readable. I was tracking this cemetery down for a Chicago Genealogist looking for Davis burials. I could not find the stones, but did find the list. Further: "By the 1870's, the West Caln Baptist Church having gone several years without a pastor, the congregation had dwindled down to fifteen members. The North Philadelphia Baptist Association, July 8, 1883, held a meeting for the disbandment of the West Caln Baptist Church and appointed the Coatesville Baptist Church to hold and take charge of the West Caln property. On August 5, the church was formally disbanded as letters of dismission were voted to all fifteen members. Eleven of the members united with the Coatesville Baptist Church. That is a mistake. There is no Rebecca buried there. (The dates listed with her are, in fact, Margaret's.)
