In the year 1811 the German Reformed congregation, which had been formed some time prior, and had been worshiping up to this time in private dwellings, bought of the German Lutheran congregation worshiping at Pikeland, a 1/2 interest in their church property. From that time on to the present they have enjoyed the use of this property in common with that body. From the time of organization till 1830, the congregaion ws served by the following pastors; Rev Frederick A Herman fr DD; Rev Jacob W Dechantl; Rev. Casper Wach. The dates of their pastorates are not known, and there may have been other ministers prior to 1830. Sept 30, 1830, Rev Jesse B Knipe was ordained pastor of the Pikeland charge. He continued to serve St Peter's till Jan 1, 1881, a period of more than 50 years, when he tendered his resignation. This was accepted, but Father Knipe still preached for the congregation as they have not yet called another pastor. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- from HISTORY OF THE REFORMED CHURCHES IN CHESTER CO J.
