PETITION TO ORPHAN'S COURT March 19, 1776, by Abraham Beaty and Robert Beaty, sons of the deceased David Beaty. "To the honourable Justices of the Orphans Court held at Chester for the County of Chester the 19th day of March Anno Dom. 1776. The Petition of Abraham Beaty the Eldest Son, and Robert Beaty another of the Sons of David Beaty late of Uwchlan Township in the said County Yeoman deceased. Humbly Sheweth That the said David Beaty sometime ago died Intestate, leaving a Widow named Elizabeth and seven Children viz Rachel, Abraham, Esther, Agnes, William, Robert and Elizabeth to Survive him; That after his decease Admon of his Goods and Chattles was Committed to his Widow and Son Robert, who find that the Personal Estate of the said deceased is more than Sufficient to pay all his just debts and Funeral charges; That the said Intestate at the time of his death was Seized ....of a certain Plantation and Tract or parcel of Land Situate in Uwchlan Township aforesaid Containing by Estimation One hundred and Seventy Acres; Your Petitioners therefore pray that your Honours will be pleased to appoint and Inquest to make a just and equal Partition and division of the said Land and premises to and among the said Widow and Children according to Law, if the same can be done without prejudice to or spoiling the whole, otherwise to Value the same, agreeable to the directions of the Laws of this Province in such case made and provided.
