To the Sheriff of the County of Chester Greeting. Wee Command you that you take Samuel Miranda of late of Chester joiner (?) (?) and him safely keep So that you may have his Body before our Justices at Chester at our Court of Comon pleas there to be held for the said county the Last Tuesday in February next to answer John Taylor of a plea of Tresspass upon the Case (?) To his Damage (?) and have you there then this Writt Witness Rich'd Hays Esq'r at Chester the Twenty Eighth Day of November in the Seventh year of our Reign. Caleb Coupland Chester Samuel Miranda late of Chester in the aforesaid County, Schoolmaster was Attached to answer John Taylor of a plea of Trespass Upon the Case. Whereas the aforesaid Samuel the 7th day of August one thousand Seven Hundred and thirty three at Chester aforesaid in the County aforesaid together had accounted with the aforesaid John of divers [various] sums of money by the Samuel Miranda to the said John before that time due and unpaid and upon that account the said Samuel was found in arrears towards the said John in three pounds and Schilling & Eleven pence money of Pennsylvania. Whereupon the said Samuel in consideration thereof upon himself did assume and to the said John (?) (?) faithfully promise that he the said Samuel Miranda the aforesaid three pounds and Shilling & Eleven pence to the said John would (?) and truely pay when he Should be hereunto required. Nevertheless the aforesaid Samuel the promises and assumption aforesaid little regarding but couf...ing and fraudently Intending the said John (?) behalf craftily and Subfilly to deceive and defraud the aforesaid Sum of money or any part thereof /altho of him required/ hath not paid but (?) Laws hitherto pay hath refused and still doth refuse. Whereupon the said John Saith he is worse & has damages to the value of five pounds and p thereof he brings Suit on. pleg de prop John Doe Rich'd Doe Chester George Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain, France, and Ireland King. Defender of the faiths To the Sheriff of the County of Chester, Greeting. Wee Command you that you Take Samuel Miranda late of Chester, Schoolmaster (If he be found in your Baylywick) and him Safely keep so that you may have his body before our Justices at Chester at our Court of Comon Pleas.
