County most humbly SHEWETH: That your petitioner has rented that ancient tavern by the name of Brumbachs Tavern, on the road from Phila. to Reading, Lancaster, Warwick furnace and sundry other iron works and places adjacent. And whereas your Petitioner has put himself to some expenses in order to keep a good house for to entertain travellers, carters, etc., therefore your Petitioner would take't as a great favour if your Honours would recommend him to his Excellency the Governor of this State for to grant him a license for to keep a public house of entertainment at sd. place for the ensuing year and he is duly bound shall pray. signed Lawrence Hipple We the subscribers do hereby certify that we are well acquainted with your Petitioner and know him to be a sober and industrious man and fit to keep a public house of Entertainment and further certify that there is a necessity for one in that place therefore would desire that the prayer of his Petition may be granted. signed: John Miller Conrad Hause Geo.
