Common Pleas Court (1752) Chester County to Wit November Term MD66LIT John McCurdie of Chester County Cordwainer otherwise called Jno McCurdie Cordwind and Alexander Mitchell of the said County Yeoman otherwise called Alexdr Mitchel of the Township of London Derry in the County of Chester and Provance of Pencyla were summoned to answer Arthur Emoch of a Plea that they render to him thirty pounds lawful money of Pennsylvania which to him they owe and unjustly detain And whereupon the same Arthur saith that whereas the aforesaid John and Alexander the sixteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty eight at Chester County aforesaid by their Writing obligatory granted themselves to be bound to the said Arthur in the aforesaid thirty pounds to be paid to the same Arthur when thereto afterward they should be be required Nevertheless the said John and Alexander at eh often required the aforesaid Thirty pounds to the aforesaid Arthur yet have not paid but the same to him to pay have refused and still he refuses to the Damage of the same Arthur Ten pounds like money And therefore he brings Suit And doth bring into Court here the Writing Obligatory aforesaid.
