Written: March 29, 1833

To the honorable Judges of the Court of Common Pleas, in and for the county of 
Chester, now holding and composing a Court of Quarter-Sessions, in and for the 
said County. 
The petition of the subscriber respectfully represents:
That he is the renter and occupier of the Alde established Tavern Stand situate 
in the township of East Town, lately kept by Alexander and Lindley, in the 
said county of Chester known as the sign of the Stage on the Philadelphia and 
Lancaster Turnpike Road, and that he is now licensed by this honorable Court, 
to keep said Inn or Tavern; he therefore prays this honorable Court to continue 
the said license, and he will pray, &c.
signed: Benjamin Sheneman, April 29 AD 1833.

To the honorable the above Judges named:
We, the subscribers, do certify, that we are citizens of the said township of 
Easttown Township and that we are well acquainted with Benjamin Sheneman, the 
petitioner above named; that he is of good repute for honesty and temperance, 
that he is well qualified to keep a Public House, and is well provided with 
house room and convenience for lodging and accommodation of strangers and 
travelers.
