The Petition of Adam Ramsower of the Township of Radnor in the said county, humbly sheweth: That your Petitioner hath lately bought a plantation and erected a large house and other improvements thereon in the said Township of Radnor, situate on the Great Road leading from the Valley, Forge, close by the house of your Petitioner, makes it a very public place; and your said Petitioner conceives there is a necessity for a Public House of entertainment to be kept there, he having been very much bartherred last winter with travellers and their creatures, That your Petitioner hath for many years last past kept a Public House at the Yellow Spring in Pikeland Township, and is well acquainted with the business, and having built good stables and other conveniences and procured everything necessary for carrying on that business with reputation and credit, He, your said Petitioner, therefore prays that your Honours will be pleased to grant him a recommendation on his Honour the Govemour of this Province for his license to keep a Public House of entertainment in the place aforesaid for the selling of wine, brandy, rum, beer, cyder and other liquors.
