Conceives is well situated to keep a publick house or house of Entertainment Many Strangers & passengers Calling that Way That your Petitioner having been formerly favoured with a Lycence from his Honour the Governour to keep a Publick house in the Borough of Lancaster & under which Station of Life having behaved himself well according to the Law of this Province made Relating to Innkeepers and Tavernors, as by the following Certificate Can & May Appear Your Pet’r. therefore most humbly prays your Worships will be pleased to Recommend him to his honour the Governour in order that he may keep a Publick house or house of Entertainment in the said Township of Fallowfield upon the Great Road Leading from Conastogo to Christiana Landings & near to Ellis Lewis Jr. & his mill 26th Nov. 1745 And your pet’r as in duty bound will Ever pray etc. Moses Musgrave We the Subscribers Inhabitants of the Borough of Lancaster afores’d do ? Certify that We have well known & been acquainted with the abovenamed Moses Musgrave & that During the time of his Living among us he always kept a good, & orderly house of Entertainment and in every other respect behaved as an Honest Man and a good neighbour.
