Cumming John Baldwin John Taylor David Cowpland Jacob Howell, Sr John Mather James Mather Joshua Thompson In August of 1747, the following men signed a petition to the President and Council of the Province of PA, requesting a survey for a road leading from Philadelphia to Chester; Joseph Bonsall Samuel Levis John Davis Job Harvey Samuel Bunting George Gray George Wood Jonathan Paschall Thomas Pearson William Horne In Sept of that same year, the Council appointed the following men (or any 5 of them) to lay out the road from "the division line which parts Philadelphia county from Chester county to the limits of the county of New Castle."
