All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Diana Quinones audiana@msn.com December 31, 2005, 1:03 am 100 acres E Nantmeal Written: February 7, 1795 Recorded: July 27, 1796 Indenture made 2/7/1795 between Philip COSNER of East Nantmeal Township, County of Chester, state of PA, yeoman, and Catharine, his wife, on the first part, and Henry LANDIS, same township, yeoman, on the other part, WITNESSETH that the said Philip COSNER and Catherine his wife, for and in considertaion of 272 pounds good and lawful money of Pennsylvania to them well and truly paid by the said Henry LANDIS and before the sealing and delivery hereof, the receipt whereof they to hereby acknowledge, do equit and forever discharge said Henry LANDIS, his heirs and assigns by these presents have granted, bargained, sold, released and confirmed and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, release, and confirm to the said Henry LANDIS, his heirs and assigns a certain messuage plantation and tract of land situate in the said township of East Nantmeal beginning at a stone corner of Thomas LLOYDs and along his lines ....to Thomas JENKINS and then by lands of RUTTER and POTTS ....bordering on on land of Mark BIRD etc...to place of beginning containing 100 acres being the same land to which Thomas RUTTER and Martha, his wife, and Samuel POTTS and ??? his wife by their indenture bearing date of 12/1/1786, did for the consideration therein mentioned , grant and convey the above named land, title, estate rights etc to Philip COSNER and Catharine his wife, and he to Henry LANDIS his heirs and assigns ... and behoof of the said Philip COSNER for himself and his heirs, and do now covenant promise and grant to with the appurtenances unto the said Henry LANDIS, his heirs and assigns by these presents, that the said Philip COSNER and his heirs, the said tract of land above described being granted or mentioned ...unto the said Henry LANDIS his heirs and assigns against him the said Philip COSNER and his heirs. The said parties to these presents have therein set their hands and seals hereunto dated the date and year above written. signed -- Philip (X -his mark)COSNER and Catherine (X - her mark) sealed and delivered in the presence of us, Fredrich LANDIS and Jonat. PUGH. Received of Henry LANDIS the sum of 272 pounds, lawful money above-mentioned, witness my hand, Philip (X his mark) COSNER. Witness present at signing - Jon? PUGH, Chester County this day seventh of Feb AD 1795, before one of the subscribers one of the justices for the said county came the above married Philip and Catharine COSNER, his wife, and acknowledged the above written indenture to be their act and deed with the intent the same might be recorded as such according to Law, the said Catharine being of full age and secretly and apart from her husband by me examined, did say that she, hearing the contents thereof, voluntarily did seal and deliver the same, witness my hand and seal the day and year aforesaid.
