We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ****************************************************************** James DAVIS to Israel DAVIS Book O, Page 337 Deed James DAVIS Israel DAVIS BE IT REMEMBERED that on the Seventeenth day November Anno Dom 1757 the Indenture hereafter mentioned was produced before Isaac DAVIS one of the Justices for said County and thereupon Came the hereafter Named James DAVIS and acknowledged the said Indenture to be his act and Deed and desired the same might be Recorded as such which said Indenture is Recorded in the Office for Recording of Deeds in and for the County of Chester the Nineteenth day of September Anno Dom 1766 In thesse words to wit: THIS INDENTURE made the twentyeth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and fifty Seven Between James DAVY [ otherwise DAVIS]of Trediffryn in the County of Chester in the Province of Pensilvania Yeoman of the one part and Iseral DAVIS his son of the same place Yeoman of the other part Whereas William Penn Esquire Proprietor and Governor of the said Province of Pennsylvania by his Patent duly Executed bearing date the ____ day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred did Grant and Convey by tracts and bounds unto one David POWELL fourteen hundred acres of Land Situate Lying and Being in the said Township of Trediffryn / be the same more or less / to hold to him the said David POWELL his heirs and Assigns forever - And Whereas the said David POWELL being thereof Lawfully Seized as afforesaid by his Deed duly Executed bearing date the ___ day of April in the year of our Lord 1708 did Grant Sell and Convey two hundred acres of the aforesaid Tract of Land unto one Thomas DAVY to hold to him his heirs and Assigns forever And Whereas the said Thomas DAVY being thereof Lawfully Seized as afforesaid by his Deed of Gift duly Executed Bearing date the 7th day of March in the year of our Lord 1741 Did Give grant and Convey the afforesaid two hundred acres of Land unto his son Mathusala DAVY to hold to him his heirs and Assigns forever And Whereas the said David POWELL being thereof Lawfully Seized as afforesaid by his Deed duly Executed bearing date the ___ day of April in the year of our Lord 1708 did Grant Sell and Convey two hundred acres of the afforesaid Tract of Land unto one Thomas DAVY to hold to him his heirs and Assigns forever And Whereas John PENN and Richard PENN Esq'rs Proprietors of the said Province the Better to Confirm unto the said Mathusala DAVY his heirs & Assigns the Tille of the said 200 acres of Land by their Patent bearing date the 12th day of April in the year of our Lord 1745 did Confirm the afforesaid 200 acres of Land unto the afforesaid Mathusala DAVY his heirs and Assigns forever And Whereas the said Mathusala DAVY being thereof Lawfully Seized as afforesaid he the said Mathusala DAVY together with Elizabeth his wife by their Deed duly Executed bearing date the twenty Seventh day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand and seven hundred & fifty did Grant Sell and Convey the afforesaid two hundred acres of Land unto the above Named James DAVY [otherwise DAVIS] to hold to him the said James DAVIS his heirs and Assigns forever Relation being had to the Several Deeds & writings herein before Recited may and will more fully and at Large Appear Now this Indenture Witnesseth that he the said James DAVY [otherwise DAVIS] for and in Consideration of the Love and Natural Affection which he hath and beareth for his son the Afforesaid Iseral DAVIS and for the Advancement of him the said Iseral as also for and in Consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty Pounds Currant Lawfull money of Penssilvania to him in hand paid by the said Iseral DAVIS at and before the Sealing and Delivery of thesse pressents the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and thereof doth Acquit and forever discharge the said Iseral DAVIS his heirs Executors & Administrators by thesse pressents and for the Causes and Considerations afforesaid Hath Given Granted Bargained and Sold and by thesse pressents Doth Give Grant Bargain Alien Enploy (Note from submitted, Sam D. LAWSON: I could not decipher this last word with all certainty) Releasse and Confirm unto the said Iseral DAVIS and to his heirs and Assigns all that Plantation Piece Parcel or Tract of Land Situate Lying and being in Trediffryn afforesaid it Being a Part of the two hundred acres Granted to him by the said Mathusala DAVYas afforesaid Beginning at a heap of stones for a corner in the line of Land lately belonging to Joseph BARTHOLOMEW Deceased and at a Corner of Joseph LEWIS'S land thence by the said LEWIS'S land west Northwest one hundred and fifty Eight perches to a Corner thence by the said LEWIS'S and David DAVIS'S land East one hundred and Eight Perches to a stake thence North NorthEast forty one perches to a stake thence upon a Direct Course about South SouthEast one hundred and forty five perches or thereabouts to a stake in the line of another Tract of Land belonging to the said James DAVIS thence west Southwest one hundred and forty six perches by the said James DAVIS'S land and by some Land Called the fulling mill land and on the line of the afforesaid BARTHOLOMEW'S land to the place Beginning Containg one hundred and thirty three acres of Land / be the same more or less / Together with all the Buildings houses out houses Barns stables Gardens Orchards meadows fields fences woods wood land mines minerals Rights Liberties Priviledges Hereditaments and Appurtenances whatsoever to the said tract or parcel of Land belonging or in any wise Appertaining and Reversions and Remainders Rents Issues and profitts thereof To have and to hold the said Plantation Tracts or Parcel of Land Hereditaments and Premisses hereby Granted or mentioned or Intended to be Granted with the Appurtenances unto the said Iseral DAVIS his heirs and Assigns To the only proper use and Behoof of him the said Iseral DAVIS his heirs and Assigns forever under the yearly quitrent now Due or hereafter accruing for the same to the Chief Lord of the ??? LAWSON: I could not decipher this word with all certainty) thereof And the said James DAVIS for himself his heirs and Assigns doth hereby Covenant and agree that the said Plantation tract or parcel of Land and Premisses hereby Given and Granted or mentioned or Intended to be Granted with the Appurtenances unto him the said Iseral DAVIS his heirs and Assigns against him the said James DAVIS and his heirs and Assigns and against all other person or persons whatsoever Lawfull Claiming or to Claim the same or any part thereof by from or under him them or any of them shall and will warrant and forever Defend by thesse pressents and Shall and will at anytime or times thereafter upon the Reasonable Request Cost and Charges in law of him the said Iseral DAVIS his heirs or Assigns make Execute and Acknowledge or Cause so to be any such further or other Reasonable act or acts Deed or deeds device or devices in Law whatsoever for the Better Assurance or Confirmation of the hereby given and granted Plantation tract or parcel of Land and Premisses with the Hereditaments and Appurtenances thereunto belonging unto him the said Iseral DAVIS his heirs and Assigns as by him or them or by his or their Council learned in the Law Shall Reasonably be devised advised or Required In Witness whereof the said James DAVIS [otherwise DAVY] hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written. his James D DAVIS mark Sealed and Delivered In the Pressence of us thence North Northeast forty one perches to a stake Between ye fifteenth & Sixteenth line being first Interlined Isaac DAVIS Joseph BONSALL
