All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Diana Quinones audiana@msn.com November 6, 2005, 1:19 am 32 acres 60 perches in E Nantmill Written: April 17, 1814 Recorded: May 9, 1815 This indenture made the 17th day of April 1814 between Jacob HIGH of the township of E Nantmill, in the county of Chester and State of Pennsylvania, miller, and Barbara his wife and John MERVINE of the tounship, county and state aforesaid, yeoman, of the other part, WITNESSETH that the said Jacob HIGH and Barbara his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand two hundred and ninety five dollars current money of the United States of America to them in hand paid by the said John MERVINE at and before the ensealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and thereof acquit and forever discharge the said John MERVINE his heirs executors and administrators by these presents have granted bargained sold aliened eufeoffed released and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell alien eufeoff release and by these presents the said John MERVINE and to his heirs and assigns all that plantation and tract or piece or parcel of land situate lying and being in the township of E Nantmill in the county of Chester, State of Pennsylvania bounded and described as lollows: BEGINNNING at a Lynn Tree and a run in a line of land of John PAINTER being a corner between the hereby granted premises and land of John COPLAND and running thence by the same north 87 degrees east 96 perches and 2/10 to a stone in a line of land of David HIGH and thence by the same and land of William BEAVENS south 5 degrees east 56 perches to a stone in a line of Lands of Warwick Company and thence by the same south 76 degrees and 15 minutes west 70 2/10 perches to a stone a corner between there herby granted premises and land of the aforesaid John PAINTER and by the same north 27 degrees west 74 4/10 perches to the place of beginning CONTAINING 32 acres and 60 perches of land, be the same more or less, it being part of a certain plantation and tract of land of 130 acres situate in the township of East Nantmill aforesaid which by a Orphan's Court held and kept at West Chester in and for the county of Chester on the 4th day of November in the year 1813 adjudged to the said Jacob HIGH with the appurtenances and to his heirs and assigns forever as in and by the Records and proceedings of the said Court relation thereunto being had may more fully and at large appear, together with all and singular the houses outhouses buildings barns stables ways woods waters water courses rights liberties privileges hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversions and remainders rents issues and profits thereof and also all the estate rights title interest property claims and demand whatsoever of them the said Jacob HIGH and Barbara his wife in law or equity or otherwise heirs of in to or out of the same to have and to hold the said messuage plantation and tract of 32 acres and 60 perches of land hereditaments and premises hereby granted or mentioned or intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said John MERVINE his heirs and assigns forever. AND the said Jacob High for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth covenant promise grant and agree to and with the said John MERVIN his heirs and assigns by these presents that he the said Jacob HIGH and his heirs the said above mentioned and described plantation and tract piece or parcel of land hereditaments and premises hereby granted or mentioned or intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said John MERVINE his heirs and assigns against him the said Jacob HIGH and Barbara his wife and their heirs and against all and every other person and persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim by from or until him them or any or either of them shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. IN WITNESS whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto interchangeably set their hands and seal dated the day and year first above written: Jacob HIGH (SEAL) Barbara HIGH (SEAL) Sealed and delivered in the presence of us John SOUDERS and Michael LYNCH. Received the day of the date of the above written indenture of and from the above named John MERVINE the full consideration money above mentioned, I say received by me....Jacob HIGH. John SOUDERS Mich'l LYNCH ......Chester County, JPs Before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace in and for the said county came the above named Jacob HIGH and Barbara his wife and acknowledged the above written indenture to be their act and deed and desired that the same may be recorded as such according to law, the said Barbara being of full age, by me and separate and apart from her husband, examined and the contents therof to her made known, she did acknowledge that the same was her own voluntary act without any coersion or compulsion from her said husband.
