Thomas Ruston Kennedy to James Patterson & others}

This Indenture Made the Ninth day of the third Month in the year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and ninety three, Between Thomas R. Kennedy of the
township of East Whiteland in the County of Chester and Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania Doctor of Physick of the one part, And James Patterson and Amor
Patterson both of the township of Goshen in the County aforesaid of the other
part. Whereas there is a certain tract of land situate in the township of East
Whiteland aforesaid containing 251 acres which was conveyed by James Hunter to
D. Samuel Kennedy butted and bounded as in said deed of Conveyance is fully set
for th. And the said Thomas R. Kennedy son and heir at law of the said Samuel
Kennedy after the death of his father by a division being made according to law
of the said Tract of 251 acres, became lawfully seized in -- -- of and in a
certain part thereof lying at the South westerly corner of said tract. Now this
Indenture Witnesseth that the said Thomas R. Kennedy for and in Consideration of
the sum of twenty seven pounds fifteen shillings and eight pence of lawfull
money of Pennsylvania by the said James Patterson and Amor Patterson to him in
hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged and thereof do acquit exonerate and forever discharge them
the said James Patterson and Amor Patterson and their heirs and assigns by these
presents Have granted, Bargained, Sold, a-- released and confirmed, and by these
presents Do grand, bargain, sell, alien, enseoff? release and confirm unto the
said James Patterson and Amor Patterson and to their heirs and assigns a Certain
part of the aforesaid dividend or tract of land being the South Westerly corner
thereof situate in the township of East Whiteland aforesaid Beginning at a
marked black Oak a corner of the land late of William Garrett thence North
twenty six degrees and three quarters of a degree west fifty six perches and
seven tenths of a perches to a post a corner of land of Mary Kennedy now
Kinnard, thence by the last said land north sixty four degrees and an half East
eleven perches to a stone, thence by other land of the said Thomas E. Kennedy
the five next following courses and distances viz. South twenty six degrees and
three quarters of a degree East twenty eight perches to a stone North sixty
seven degrees East thirteen perches to a stone south twenty six degrees and
three quarters of a degree. East one perch to a large white Oak, South sixty
seven degrees west thirteen perches to a stone and - twenty six degrees and
three quarters of a degree East twenty seven perches and a half perch to a stone
in the line of land late of William Garrett aforesaid, thence by the same Land
South sixty three degrees and a quarter of a degree West eleven perches to the
place of Beginning Containing three acres three quarters and thirty five square
perches of land together also with all and singular the Gardens, Meadows,
fields, fences, woods, ways, waters, water courses, rights, liberties,
privileges, improvements, hereditaments and appertaining whatsoever thereunto
belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversions and remainders Rents,
Issues and Profits thereof. And all the estate title interest use possession
property claim demand whatsoever either in law or equity or otherwise howsoever
of him the said Thomas R. Kennedy of into or out of all and singular the above
described tract of three acres and three quarters and thirty five square perches
of land or any part thereof. To Have and to hold the said above described land
hereditaments and premises hereby granted or mentioned or intended to be granted
with the appurtenances unto the said James Patterson and Amor Patterson and to
their heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of them the said James
Patterson and Amor Patterson their heirs and Assigns forever . And the said
Thomas R. Kennedy doth hereby Covenant promise and agree for himself and his
heirs to and with the said James Patterson and Amor Patterson their heirs and
assigns that he the said Thomas R. Kennedy and his heirs the said above
described tract of three acres and three quarters and thirty five square perches
of land hereditaments and premises hereby granted or mentioned or intended to be
granted with the appurtenances unto the above named James Patterson & Amor
Patterson their heirs and assigns against him the said Thomas R. Kennedy and his
heirs and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully
claiming or to claim by from so under him them or either or any of them shall
and will warrant and forever defend by these presents In Witness whereof the
said Thomas R. Kennedy has hereunto set his hand and Seal the day and Year first
above written Th.R.Kennedy seal,  Sealed and Delivered in the presence of us Jn.
Bartholomew, Hannah Davis........Received the day of the date of the above
written Indenture of the above named James Patterson an Amor Patterson the Sum
of twenty seven pounds fifteen shillings and eight pence being the full
consideration money above mentioned TH. Kennedy.........Before me John
Bartholomew Esq. one of the Justices of the peace in and for the county of
Chester came the above named Thomas E. Kennedy and acknowledged the above
written Indenture to be his act and deed and desired the same as such might be
recorded according to law witness my hand and seal the ninth day of March Anno
Domini 1793.....Jn Bartholomew
