All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Diana Quinones audianaq@msn.com September 24, 2005, 1:53 am 6 acres 50 perches in Tredyffrin Written: January 23, 1802 DEED of Thomas Pennington et al to Frederick Landis: This INDENTURE made this 23 day of June AD 1802 between Thomas Pennington of Tredyffrin township, Chester County and state of Pennsylvania, and Judith, his wife, and Deborah Pennington (mother of said Thomas) of the one part, and Frederick Landis of East Town in said county, yeoman, of the other part, WHEREAS the said Thomas Pennington by the will of his later father, Thomas Pennington, deceased and by his Deed dated the first of April AD 1797 recorded at West Chester in Book R Vol 1 page 193 became legally seized of and in a plantation and tract of land situate in Tredyffrin aforesaid bounded by lands of Joel Evans, Jacob Baugh, the said Frederick Landis and others containing 143 acres and 129 perches, reference to the said will and deed, as will fully appear, subject to a life estate therein of the said Deborah, now this indenture witnesseth that the said Thomas Pennington and Judith his wife and Deborah Pennington, for and in consideration of the sum of 71 pounds and 3 pence, lawful money of Pennsylvania in hand paid and secured to be paid by the said Frederick Landis, in, at and before the sealing and delivery hereof, the receipt of which they do hereby acknowledge and thereof and therefrom, do acquit exonerate and forever discharge the said Frederick Landis, his executors and administrators by these presents have granted, bargained and sold, aliened, enfeoffed, remind, released, and confirmed and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, denuse?, release and also confirm unto the said Frederick Landis, his heirs and assigned a certain part of the aforesaid tract of land beginning at the line of other lands of the said Frederick Landis thence along the north side of the turnpike road south 89 degrees and one quarter west 13 perches and an half, to a post and north 28 degrees and one half west by other part of said tract 77 perches to a post set in a road and along the same north 31 degrees east 14 perches to the line of the other land of said Frederick Landis and by the same south 28 degrees and one half east 90 perches and an half to the place of beginning, containing 6 acres and 50 perches, strict measure, together also with all and singular the buildings, improvements, woods, meadows, ways, water, water courses, rights, easements, liberties, privileges, hereditaments and appurtenances there to belonging or in any wise appertaining and all the reversions and remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof and all the estate and interest of them the said Thomas Pennington and Judith, his wife, and Deborah Pennington in and to the same, to have and to hold the above described lot or piece of land containing 6 acres and 50 perches to be the same more or less with all the improvements and appurtenanceds aforesaid unto the said Frederick Landis his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Thomas Pennington doth hereby covenant for himself his heirs executors and administrators to and with the said Frederick Landis, his heirs and assigns, that he and they the above bounded and described..... However it is recorded in the Deeds office, and is sufficient to show information on the Pennington land and family and their sale of 6 acres+ to Frederick Landis, an adjacent property owner in Tredyffrin/East Town.
