CHESTER AND ITS VICINITY DELAWARE CO PA, by Harris, 1877;

On the day of the battle of Long Island, Aug 27, 1776, a return was made of the 
troops quartered near Philadelphia.  One battalion is mentioned as being in the 
barracks.
