Gibson Visiting His Old Friends in the Vicinity Samuel J. Gibson, of Meadville, a brother of the late G.W. Gibson, of East Bradford, and of Mrs. L.A. Kline, of Philadelphia is visiting friends in West Chester, Downingtown and other portions of Chester County. Mr. Gibson is a survivor of the old 124th Regiment. He has visited many of his schoolmates of 30 years ago in this vicinity. About 1860 he left the old homestead, where his brother’s widow now resides, to seek his fortune in the oil regions. “I will make a fortune or break,” he remarked upon leaving her; but broke, losing all his money in the oil. Since then, however, he as dealt very successfully in lumber and has accumulated quite a neat little fortune. It has been17 years since Mr. Gibson’s previous visit here, on the death of his brother. Since then he notes many changes in the place. Of the large Gibson family that resided in this vicinity at one time, he and his sister are the only survivors. Additional Comments: See Samuel J.
