He was attending to the brakes at the time, missed his footing, and he fell under the wheels of the rear car. The unfortunate young man, has relatives in Chester County, where his remains were brought and interred on Friday last. Oxford Press, September 19, 1869 Brevities- Isaac Hill, a young man, formerly of West Whiteland township, Chester County, and a brakesman on the Pennsylvania Central Railroad, missed his footing while attending to the brakes, on Thursday night, at Vineyard Station, fell under the wheels and was killed.. Additional Comments: Researchers Note: There is a funeral card at CCHS “Isaac Hill, Private 4th Reg’t P.V.R.C, Grove. “Grove” is a section in West Whiteland Township. These cards were printed by the G.A.R, so they knew what cemetery the veteran was buried. Isaac B. Hill is buried in Grove Methodist Church. Tombstone image available.
