FENSTERMACHER, 220 West Barnard street, returned yesterday to Fort Eustis, Va., after spending a three-day furlough with his friends. “Willie” enlisted in the Coast Artillery in May. Private Witmer W. WEAVER, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. F. Witmer Weaver, of Downingtown, was graduated Thursday, the 16th, from the Army Air Corps Technical School at Keesler Field, Miss., where he completed twenty-two weeks of training. Dr. and Mrs. Thomas J. GASSER entertained at a lawn party recently at their home, “Pleasant Hill”, Malvern, in honor of Mrs. Gasser’s brother, Lieutenant Kenneth W. BURGESS, who was home on furlough from Fort Knox, Ky., where he has been stationed since enlisting in the Army in June, 1941. He is also a nephew of Mrs. Joseph R. DOWNING, of Downingtown. Guests included Miss Myrtle HAGER, Narberth, fiancée of Lieutenant Burgess; Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer LOOMIS, of Broomall, and daughters, Jeanne and Bessie, and son, William; Mr. and Mrs. William MORROW, of Gradyville, and daughter, Constance; Mrs. Bessie T. Burgess, mother of Lieutenant Burgess, and daughters, Miriam and Marjorie, of Newtown Square; James F. DILWORTH, of Media; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Downing, Downingtown, and the host and hostess, Dr. and Mrs. Gasser, and sons, Thomas, Charles, Gerald and Fred. Staff Sergeant Harold OLMSTEAD, former West Chester High School football star, who is now in the service, is located in Ireland. His address is: Serial No. 33026216, Co. A Maintenance Battalion, A.P.O. 251, care of Postmaster, New York City. Yesterday, Mrs. Olmstead, the former Peggy BRICE, received a cable from her husband, stating that he is well and enjoying his work. George F. MARCH, a graduate of the Downingtown High School, Class of 1936, will graduate from his present training school in Fort Benning, Ga., today, where he has earned his silver wings in the Parachute Troops and will be returned to his former company as an instructor. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Chandler March, of Downingtown. Joseph M. O’BRIEN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis O’Brien, of West Grove, has been elevated to Staff Sergeant. He enlisted in the Air Corps several months ago, and for some time was stationed at Bolling Field, Washington, D.C. Since his promotion in rank, he has been in charge of the Air Corps Office, in Washington. Recently he was married to Miss Barbara Jane HAFF, of Dallas, Tex. Private Harry L. STEWART is now stationed at Camp Davis, N.C. His new address is 430th Coast Artillery Battalion, Anti-Aircraft Battery B, Camp Davis, N.C.
