MARGOLIS, of Coatesville, who was formerly engaged in the legal practice here with John N. GUSS, is home from Robbins Field, Georgia, on a 10-day furlough. A son of Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Margolis, of 1016 Sterling street, Coatesville, he entered the military service early last May, received two months’ basic training at Fort McClellan, Alabama, and then was transferred, in July, to Robbins Field, where he is in the Finance Department detached to the Air Corps. Robbins Field is an air depot, serving as a sort of clearing house for replacements. Corporal Margolis’ duties are of a clerical nature, having to do with keeping track of travel allowances, payments, etc. Before long, however, he expects to apply for Officers’ Training in the Judge Advocate’s Department, where many men with legal training land. His preparation for the legal profession, together with more than a year spent in law practice with Mr. Guss, should enable him, he believes, to qualify for Officer Training and lead to a commission. Corporal Margolis says he likes the Air Corps because it is a relatively new branch of the Army. “It stresses individual performance more than some other branches,” he says, “and discipline is not so strict.” Norman E. He made the trip home last week-end with Colonel Joseph M. REILLY. “Andy” explains his appearance of trim physical fitness with the report that his outfit has been living in tents for the past three months. Camp Thalia is situated about halfway between Norfolk and Virginia Beach, and is a sort of off-shoot of Camp Pendleton, which is right at Virginia Beach. “Andy” says it is good to be “back in the old town” again, and hopes to get around to see all his friends.
