FALINI, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dominic FALINI, of 128 East Gay street, who enlisted in the service and received his basic training at Curtis Bay, Md., has been transferred to Savannah, Ga. (photo) Private Francis J. MOORE, of the U.S. Marine Corps, has landed at an undisclosed location and is well. His present address is U.S. Marine Corps, Unit No. 405, care Postmaster, San Francisco, Calif. Dr. Horace F. DARLINGTON, who in his military life ranks as a first lieutenant, is nearing the end of a 10-day furlough from Camp Gordon, Augusta, Ga., and will return to duty on Sunday night. He has been meeting many friends at the different homes. During the few months he was away his children kept growing, and he noticed a great change in his daughter, Robin Lou, who is in the Demonstration School, and is now a real young lady, and in Jerry, the son, who will shortly be two years old. He speaks highly of camp life, which has been beneficial to his health and developing his mind. While in Philadelphia, with Mrs. Darlington, the other evening, they talked of going to a movie, but on consulting the card found that he had seen all which were listed, as the best films came to camp early, at about 15 cents admission. His family is staying at the new home, on Everhart avenue, which he built a year or two ago. Fred HAILE, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Haile, Sr., of West Chester R.D. 3, has been promoted to the rank of Major in the United States Army Air Forces. Major Haile will be remembered as one of the airplane mechanics at Main Line Airport and as a boy aviation enthusiast at the old Sky Haven Airport. He left the Main Line Airport to serve a term as a flight mechanic with a U.S. Army Air bombardment squadron stationed in the Panama Canal Zone. At the termination of his enlistment he was chief mechanic at the Pan-American Airway System in charge of their base at Maracaibo, Venezuela. With the United States at war, Major Haile is carrying on his aviation work for his country. At present he is stationed somewhere in Africa.
