Marion Allison After an illness of almost a year’s duration, J. Marion Allison passed away at his home n Glen Moore early this morning. He was in his 72d year The deceased was born in East Brandywine township, but went to Glen Moore while still young and lived practically his entire life in and about that place. He was highly respected in the community and enjoyed the estem (sic) of a wide circle of friends. He was a trustee and regular attendant of Fairview Presbyterian Church. Aside from his widow, M Allison is survived by six children. The are: Mrs. Bertha Hartenstine, East Nantmeal; Mrs. Clara Musser, Hollyoak, Del; Jesse Allison, West Chester; Mrs. Alva G. Smith, Hollyoak, Del.; Mrs. Elizabeth McClure, Glen Moore, and Russell Allison, Hollyoak, Del.; A brother, William Allison, of Newark, H.J., and a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Wilson, of Cambridge, Md., also survive. Ibid: ALLISON- In Glen Moore, on Jan. 25, J. Marion Allison, in the 72d year of his age. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral without further notice from his late residence, on Friday, Jan. 28. All services at the house at 2 ‘clock p.m. Interment at Fairview Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday evening. Daily Local News, January 31, 1927 The funeral of J. Marion Allison was held at his late residence, in Glen Moore, on Friday afternoon, and was largely attended by relatives and friends. Services were conducted by Rev. David R. Stewart, pastor of Fairview Presbyterian Church, of which Mr. Allison was a member, assisted by Rev. Elisha Safford, of Darby, a former pastor, and Rev. E.M. Richmond, pastor of the M.E. Church. Beautiful flowers attested the love and esteem of the deceased. The pall bearers were sons and sons-in-law of the deceased, namely: Jesse Allison, Russell Allison, Walter Hartenstine, Fred Musser, Alvah Smith, Alfred McClure.
